Book Summary

In a world where fear is a disease, and disease is control, it took but a single push upon tiresome shoulders (the murdering of a young child by the hands of the “TRITE” terrorist organization) to snap Daniel Sathers – son of the esteemed Admiral Sathers – into the arms of quintessence, as he gradually learns that the emotion he has seen as a disease for so long, may be the only way to survive the horrors that lay outside of “The Wall”.

Six years of stories

“Through Jaded Eyes” began in 2008 when I started to write short stories during a very dark period in my life. I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder in high school, and this caused me to channel my energy into writing short stories, starting with my first published piece: “Wolves Among Sheep,” which is being developed into a soliloquy. As time went on I realized I could do so much more with these seemingly unrelated stories.

The formation of plot

It was no coincidence (“there are no coincidences, only the illusion of coincidence”) that all of these short stories could be altered so that sixteen separate plots could become a singular unit. Over the following six years I began to piece them together, making changes until a plot was born, but I was not yet done. I still needed an ending, and that proved the hardest task of them all. But in the end, triumph prevails…

Finishing what I started

The novel was originally a mere 50 pages, which barely constitutes a novel. In 2014, I decided I would finally finish it. Everything in this novel past page 51 was written literally six years later, and the ending masks that of the “Dark Tower” series with a hook that you will never be able to shake off! It is almost as if the book is broken up into two segments, and I am very proud to present this novel to the world. Enjoy the ride…

Book Summary

A documentary crew sets out on a 1983 mission to (with permission from the government itself) follow a team of Colombian drug smugglers as they make their way into the 900-square-mile, unmanned (and unobserved) Florida Everglades. Based on true events inspired by the Cocaine Cowboys and their fifteen-year legacy of peddling cocaine into Florida, this book is not for the faint of heart. Do not operate heavy machinery while reading, and beware – you will never think the same again…

Fascinating story

“Port Risk” was inspired by true events, and has a very fascinating backstory. In 2011, I wrote this novel in less than four days. Within a week, it was on Amazon.com and on store shelves at Barnes & Nobles book stores. The story was inspired from an article on the 1980’s “Cocaine Cowboys” wars, and so I did my best to write a compelling story to help represent a time in history that caused as much good as it did bad.

One year later

One year later (and I mean that quite literally, almost to the date), while in the process of developing a video game for my company, New Breed Games, one of my marketing interns took it upon themselves to speak with a man named Mickey Munday, who was now interested in having a video game developed based on his twenty-year run as a drug smuggler, working alongside the infamous Pablo Escobar and others.

The paradox

One year after publishing a book about the Cocaine Cowboys, I met Mickey, who was ironically the founder of the drug smuggling movement. In other words, I wrote a book about a man I had not even met at the time, yet fate led me to him…
